Lamine Yamal was one of the main figures at the Mundo Deportivo Grand Gala, an event that also marked the newspaper's 120th anniversary. He received the Trofeo Mundo Deportivo in recognition of his outstanding season and expressed gratitude, saying the award means a lot to him, his family and friends; he is happy and hopes to surpass last year's achievements.

The Barça number 10 from Rocafonda stressed that the season is entering important stages where top-level players must step up. He is enjoying the moment but is determined to push for more and help the team. Despite Barcelona currently leading LaLiga, he emphasised that the title fight is far from decided: the league is long and demanding, so the squad must keep fighting to the end, accumulate points and avoid slip-ups as they did last season.

On the Champions League, Yamal referred to last season's painful exit just short of the final after losing in extra time at San Siro to Inter. He noted that group position mainly affects rest periods, but regardless of the opponent the team will approach knockout matches intent on winning.

Regarding goalscoring, he said he does not set personal tallies as his priority; his focus is on playing well and helping the team win rather than chasing individual numbers, and he judges his performances by their contribution to the side.

Although he finished second in the 2025 Ballon d'Or voting, Yamal indicated that such honours are not his main aim. He believes individual awards depend on team success and how the game is perceived, so his goals remain enjoying football and winning titles with Barcelona and the national team.
